UAB Medicinos bankas presents a unique function of the applet for mobile banking

UAB Medicinos Bankas presents an updated applet for mobile banking, one of which functions is not only unique in Lithuania, but also it is one of the first in the world – the applet provides an opportunity to pay a utility bill by taking a shot of it.

An applet for mobile banking presented by Medicinos bankas earlier this year was supplemented with new functionality. One of the new functions allows bank customers to pay for communication, television, or other services by taking picture of a special bar code that comes with the service provider's bill. Such bill payment method is not only much faster and more convenient, but it is the first in Lithuania and one of the first in the world.

From now on, there is no need to be at home or switch on your computer in order to pay bills for utilities, communications or other services, and saved time is available for family, relatives, or leisure. The Medicinos bankas’ applet for mobile banking designed for Apple and Android smartphones must be pointed to the bar code, which is placed at the bottom of the bill, then the applet fills in the required fields by itself and forms the payment, which just needs to be confirmed with a digital signature. With the aid of this applet, customers of Medicinos bankas can settle about 88 percent of all payments accepted via Internet (except for payments made by pay-books and payments for service providers, which invoices not include barcodes). When paying bills in Medicinos bankas, it costs nothing, as well as via Internet banking, so your money is saved.

“We are being the first in Lithuania, who can offer our customers the technologies that meet the rhythm of modern life. Wasting time in long queues to pay bills costs too much, right? Time is money,” says Mr. Raimondas Kutra, Medicinos bankas' Board member.

Please remember that earlier this year Medicinos bankas introduced to private and business customers an applet for mobile banking that just with a few finger touches allows to transfer money, check account balances, exchange currency, pay for goods purchased or services rendered, find the nearest branch of the bank, find out the bank news, exchange rates, or interest rates on deposits. The business customers can view, sign, cancel, or remove operations, performed by them or their employees via online banking or mobile banking applet. During one session, the applet allows using customized lists of recipients and templates, or managing own accounts and accounts of represented clients.

According to requirements of Medicinos bankas, the applet for mobile banking has been developed by Lithuanian IT-company ETRONIKA. “Mobile banking will become one of the most important banking and customer communication channels in the nearest future,” says Director of ETRONIKA Kęstutis Gardžiulis. “That is why financial institutions today must figure out how, when and where customers use mobile banking services most often, which functions they prefer, what constrains they see, and what functionalities might be rediscovered. I am delighted that together with Medicinos bankas we are going in the right direction and are looking for answers to these questions.”
